Gallery talk with Playful Grounds curators Sally Haftel naveh and Masha Zusman and with some of the artists, will take place in Barbur on February 9th at 19.00
Roy Efrat and Michal Bachi’s joint video COME (2016) consists of a multilayered digital collage of sounds and images, projected on a large white paper sheet. The audiovisual fabric is woven from a series of screenprints in progress, animated works and digital drawing, fragments sampled from YouTube, and excerpts of music, performance, and authentic narration.The formal wealth and intense coloration call a sequence of impressions, memories, or dream images to mind, stamped on paper like a drawing in motion. The work was inspired by Edward Thomas’s (1878-1917) poem “Will You Come?”, whose words are audible in the soundtrack. The experience of loneliness and the longing for a loved one who is late in coming in the dark of night allude to the solitude of the artist engaged in studio work.

עבודת הווידאו המשותפת של רועי אפרת ומיכל בקי, הַתָּבוֹא (2016), מורכבת כקולאז’ דיגיטלי רב-שכבתי של סאונד ושל תמונה, המוקרנת על גבי גיליון לבן גדול ממדים. במארג האודיו- ויזואלי משתלבים סדרה של הדפסי רשת בתהליך, עבודות הנפשה ורישום דיגיטלי, פרגמנטים שנדגמו מYouTube וכן קטעי מוזיקה, מיצג וקולות של קריינות אותנטיים. העושר הצורני והצבעוניות האינטנסיבית מעלים על הדעת רצף של רשמים, של זיכרונות או של תמונות חלום, שהוטבעו על הנייר, כמעין רישום בתנועה. העבודה נוצרה בהשראת שירו של המשורר הבריטי אדוארד תומאס (1917-1878), “Will You Come?”, שמילותיו נשמעות בפסקול. חוויית הבדידות והגעגוע לאהוב, המבושש לבוא בחשכת הליל, משולה כאן לבדידותו של האמן בסטודיו עת הוא שקוע בתהליך העבודה.
